Craftsmanship

At Eldon, we work only with pure, all natural cashmere. Free from synthetics and blends, our yarns are chosen for their exceptional softness, breathability, and warmth. Lightweight yet insulating, cashmere remains unrivalled when it comes to knitwear.

How Cashmere is Gathered

Each spring cashmere goats naturally shed their undercoats, which is then carefully combed to preserve its length and softness. With just 120–150 grams collected per goat each year, cashmere is one of the world’s rarest and most precious fibres.

100% Scottish Spun

Scottish cashmere is celebrated worldwide for its exceptional softness, durability and craftsmanship. Unlike other producers, Scottish mills dye the raw fibres before spinning, resulting in richer and longer-lasting colours. After dyeing, the fibers are carefully mixed and gently brushed, giving Scottish cashmere its signature light and soft texture.

Once dyed and spun, the yarn is then washed using Scotland’s famously pure, naturally soft water that is free from harsh minerals, enhancing the fibre’s texture and feel. And, like all true cashmere, the more you wear it, the softer it becomes over time.

Meet the Makers

Meet one of our suppliers, Tommy from Hawick, a third-generation knitter.

Working from his shed, using a vintage German Stoll knitting machine, he carefully knits each of our scarves by hand. Drawing in on his deep knowledge of colour and technique, he brings to life our much loved and eagerly anticipated 5-ply limited editions.
